Waterford maintenance dredging is a term measured contract to reinstate specified levels during two annual campaigns.

The primary dredge areas are within the Estuary and lower reaches of the River Suir and principally include Duncannon Bar, Cheekpoint Lower Bar and Belview Berth. The dredge levels vary between -6.5m CD and -8.0m CD.

The initial campaign was undertaken by the 'Shoalway' and the second campaign by the sister vessel 'Freeway', both of which have Irish load line exemption and are based in North West Europe.
