The 'Spar Draco' (53,565 DWT), loaded with 50,520Mt of wheat, ran aground and damaged its rudder whilst approaching Chittagong Anchorage “A” on the 8th of June.

The damage to the rudder was extensive and SMIT was contracted to salve the vessel. After the rudder was secured, the vessel was towed to the anchorage to discharge its cargo. While discharging took place, SMIT prepared the vessel for the ocean towage operation. Once the cargo was discharged the 'Spar Draco' was towed to Singapore for repairs.
